Volunteering

Would you like to assist one of our program participants as a Rafiki (Swahili for friend) within the framework of our project Mwalimu? Or take over a support course as Mwalimu (Swahili for teacher)?

As a Rafiki, you will advise one of our participants as needed in matters of career, education, or personal concerns, explain written materials, assist in school matters, and/or practice the language in an informal setting.

Rafiki and the participant agree on when, how often, and in what form (face-to-face, video chat, or phone) the meetings will take place.

As Mwalimu, you will tutor a small group of our participants in German, practice professional jargon, and/or provide tutoring for school subjects such as math or general education classes as needed.

We arrange a fixed time and place for these classes. There is also the possibility to start with co-teaching.
